2026 Atlanta Underground Film Festival

For 23 years, the Atlanta Underground Film Festival has supported real independent filmmaking in Atlanta. It’s a space for underground films, fresh ideas, and artists who take risks and make work their own way.

The 23rd Annual AUFF runs August 6 - 9, 2026 at in Atlanta. Each year, we showcase underground films, indie shorts, features, documentaries, animation, and experimental work from around the world. The goal is simple. Show films that live outside the mainstream and keep Atlanta’s underground film community alive.

Filmmakers come to AUFF because we respect independent voices. Audiences come because they want raw storytelling, strange surprises, and films that stand out. The weekend also includes parties, mixers, and plenty of chances to meet filmmakers and film lovers.

After more than two decades, AUFF is still one of Atlanta’s core independent and underground film festivals. If you’re submitting a project or just looking for something different on screen, this is where underground film lives.
