The Head Thieves

(84m, USA) dir. by Mike Hermosa

film website

Recently being released from prison, Graham Castillo (Mickey Gooch Jr.) reunites with his adopted Filipino brothers (Dante Basco, Dion Basco) with a devised plan in mind. While in prison he learned of a bank that was robbed but the police never found 'the dinero.' The mission takes them to a stranded almond orchard in a desolate area in America... Modesto, CA. Their plan immediately goes south when confronted by an angry farmer played by an actor who actually lives in his car. The farmer dies by a freak bullet to the head accident and the thieves have no choice but to go on the run. Leading the ship is Graham, not fit to lead anything, while Frankie is more concerned with his online Mexican girlfriend, whom he has yet to meet, and Duncan can't seem to shake his past of his being fired from a comic book store. A quirky comedy that takes us from scene to scene meeting all the obstacles and characters along the way. Over a twenty four hour period, the boys all achieve their goals and end up exactly where they started.
